Redmi’s fast charging technology has evolved into an even faster one. This became known thanks to a post on Weibo, which was posted by the manufacturer of mobile gadgets owned by Xiaomi. He decided to showcase his new fast charging technology, which is a record-breaking 300 watts. Thanks to it, you can charge your smartphone in just 5 minutes.
Redmi decided to confirm its statements by using its development called Note 12 Discovery Edition in the demonstration. More precisely, she used a modified version of the gadget. It is equipped with a 4100 mAh battery instead of the previously announced 4300 mAh. In the process, the smartphone was connected to a charger, which is positioned as ultra-fast.
The dual GaN device manages to charge half the phone’s battery in just over 2 minutes. By the time all 5 minutes are up, it will reach 100 percent. This record-breaking charging time will allow the user to pick up their mobile gadget as soon as possible in order to do their important work, in which the device acts as an indispensable assistant.
Although Redmi advertises its charger as capable of charging up to 300W, it only reaches around 290W during the charging process. Regardless, it’s a pretty impressive feat that beats the company’s previous record of charging the Note 12 Discovery Edition in nine minutes at 210W.
The device also outperforms Chinese phone maker Realme, which showed off its fast-charging technology earlier this month that can charge the new GT Neo 5 in less than 10 minutes.
Other Chinese phone companies, including OnePlus, have tried to make ultra-fast charging the standard, but still fall short of what Redmi has demonstrated. However, OnePlus 10T is available in many countries around the world, while Redmi devices are experiencing some restrictions in terms of market volumes. In addition, a competitor can be fully charged in about 20 minutes. Although it is not 5 minutes, it is also quite fast.
To date, there is still no exact information about whether the novelty will be presented on any mobile device, whose release is scheduled for the near future. However, since the company decided to add the fast charging feature to the Note 12 Discovery Edition, it is possible that subsequent models will also receive it.
But, again, everything rests on the fact that the company’s gadgets are limited to the Chinese market. If the company manages to go beyond it, then it is possible that the novelty will be able to resonate with a large number of users. After all, now time has become a much more valuable resource than before. Therefore, ultra-fast charging may appeal to the general public.
