The end of July saw the release of the interesting new products that make up the Infinix Hot 12 range. It includes two models, the 12i and 12 Plus. It’s not hard to guess which is the base model and which acted as an improved model. Today, let’s talk more about the basic one, namely the Infinix Hot 12i. It should be noted straight away that the newcomer is quite interesting for this price category, and offers a number of decent features.
Acquaintance with the smartphone takes place from the moment you get your hands on the branded box with a green cover and a black base. The manufacturer decided not to deviate from tradition and used a recognizable colour scheme for the new items. Having opened the package, we can observe:
The warranty card is available both in hard copy and electronically. The latter is completed by selecting a special option in the settings menu.
Externally, the new device is similar to its Hot 11 predecessor. There is a familiar pattern on the ‘back’ which gives off a beautiful shimmer. The camera unit acts as an upgrade. In a neat rectangle located 3 modules of different sizes, as well as the brand name and flash module. Next to it there is a square – a fingerprint sensor.
On both sides you can see the volume and power buttons, as well as a combination tray. The latter is provided for two nanoSIM and one microSD. By the way, the memory card provides an increase in the built-in memory up to 512GB. A miniJack is present at the bottom of the case, allowing you to connect a wireless headset. There’s also a microphone hole, a speaker and a microUSB socket.
The new Infinix Hot 12i has an IPS display with a diagonal of 6.6 inches. It features an HD+ resolution of 720×1612 pixels. At the top of the screen you can see a notch in the form of a drop, where the front camera is located. The smartphone has quite thin frames, which visually makes the display much larger.
The smartphone is equipped with a Unisoc T610 processor. It is accompanied by 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM. By the way, the device has the unique ability to expand the RAM from 4GB to 7GB via internal storage. The onboard eMMC 5.1 memory starts at 64GB.
The mobile device is kept alive by a battery with a capacity of up to 5000 mAh. It comes with an adapter for 10 watts. The connection is made through a microUSB-USB cable, which is also present in the package. A full cycle takes just over 3.5 hours.
One charge is enough for the smartphone for almost a whole working day, which is about 8 hours. If you use auxiliary utility programs, you can make the battery last longer and provide about 25% more functionality. With active gaming, social media monitoring, etc., the running time can vary.
At the start of use of the novelty, it is suggested to update the OS. In this way, the smartphone gets an updated graphical shell XOS v10. It is not particularly different from the traditional one that is present on Infinix devices. In terms of software, everything is minimal. The rest of the useful software has to be downloaded manually.
Infinix Hot 12i is characterized by a confident signal reception while making calls. The speaker volume is decent and adjustable. The WiFi module works quite well, although there are some speed reductions.
